Adda, Kothrud, Pune
The bar section is situated indoors with comfortable different seating arrangement. I would specially mention the foosball table present, which I absolutely love. Its absolute fun to play with your friends, for me, it added a special factor. This place is for every party animal. Games to play around, sofas to chill on, drinks and food to hog on. Interiors are good, utilizing every part of the place. Separate smoking area. Therefore, this place has to offer something to everyone.
Service is good; you are greeted with a smile when you enter. Food and drinks keep coming at a good pace inspite of being place swarming, especially on weekends.
We started with mocktails and cocktails. I being a teetotaler, tried mocktails.
As I was invited, it was a set menu but they were generous enough to provide mocktail versions of every cocktail for teetotalers like me.
Beautiful -House-made floral liqueur, vodka, cucumber and watermelon. The one I had was without alcohol. I do not enjoy drinks much and this tasted average to me.
Shikanj Vodka – Vodka and ice with Delhi style Shikanjvi. Topped with karari boondi. I had without vodka one I absolutely loved it. Perfect balance of lemon and sugar with crisp boondi.
Whiskey Khatti Meethi – This one did not had any mocktail version so cannot comment anything on taste. Presentation was nicely done
Pan Parag – White rum and Banarasi paan ka mazaa. Even without rum this drink tasted good. Exact taste of fresh paan from a drink is a bliss for every paan lover.
Tamba – Whiskey shaken with passion fruit, orange juice, lime and mint. There was no mocktail version of this as well.
Madira ki matki – Red wine and brandy punch with lots of fruits. Served in matki style with kulhad to drink in. This too did not have any non-alcoholic version. Nevertheless, people seemed to enjoy the drink.
Jungle Juice bar – Too much vodka, cranberry, pineapple, fruits and mint. No mocktail version, but it looked so gorgeous with red color of cranberry and colorful fruits in it.
Kaafi Awesome Rum – Kaffir lime and litchi muddled with white rum topped with soda. I had the one without rum. Tasted so good with perfect flavor of lime and litchi. Both my favorites. Presentation was so good with litchi hanging in between glass top.
Madh Island Iced Tea – Whiskey, Rum, Brandy, Cola and masala. I had cola masala version of it, which was good.
Panch Ratan – As the name suggests it was a mix of five alcoholic drinks. People seemed to enjoy this one the most. The presentation was unique, done in an aluminum-based matki with teacups.
Vegetarian Munchies –
Garlic Chana Fry –
This a “Chakna”, served with drinks. Chana are soaked overnight to make them soft and then deep-fried, coated with masala along with unpeeled whole garlic. Kanda masala is the main ingredient among masalas they coat. Super soft yet crisp chana with garlic flavor was perfect to start with.
Thai Fries –
Regular French fries topped with peanut sauce with fried onion and garlic. This dish somehow did not impress much.
Cajun Potato –
Smashed crispy baby potatoes dipped in Cajun sauce. Perfect spicy and tangy taste of Cajun sauce was going well with crisp potatoes. However, the presentation can slightly be improved with some interesting plating or garnishing.
Biryani Arancini –
Arancini is an Italian dish made with leftover risotto. They have come up with the Indian version of it with our very own and popular Veg Biryani with cheese in it. A perfect bite to along with chilled raita. Presentation was good and thoughtful to place Biryani Arancini over raita as a dip. Liked the concept.
Momos Tandoori –
Momos are my most favorite starters and if it is tandoori, it is like cherry on top. Had flavor of tandoori masala, but I wish if they had more coating of tandoori margination.
Hari Bhari Achari Tikki –
Green peas, spinach and paneer tikki stuffed with acahari cheese. These were all gobbed down even before I could keep my hand over it. So surely, it would have tasted amazing.
Goan Style Cutlet Pao –
Crispy vegetable cutlets, served in between pao with chutney and some finger-fried food. Flavors were good and authentic; however, pao was a little chewy.
Sticky Lotus Stem –
Deep fried lotus stem tossed in sweet and spicy sauce had good Chinese flavors. This was something new and unique which I never had before.
Corn Chili Pepper –
Golden corn tossed with bell pepper and onion. As the name suggests it had lot of pepper and chili, which made it too spicy for me. The presentation was done in a wonton basket and looked good.
Handiwali veg Biryani –
Long grain basmati rice cooked on dum with marinated vegetables had perfect aroma and flavor. Garnished with fried onions and served with raita.
Dhuandar Paneer Butter Masala –
Paneer Butter Masala with a whiskey flambé. Interesting and unique concept. Served along with two butter naans and jeera rice. Naans and jeera rice were cooked to perfection. Butter paneer masala lacked creaminess and consistency was not thick as expected.
Chocolate Bombs –
Gooey chocolate crumb filled inside a crisp cover served along with berry cream. Not super yum but tasty.
Budhau Ke Jamun–
Warm gulab jamun in Old Monk chasni served with vanilla icecream. Gulab jamun were soft and fresh but too sweet for me.
Whipped cream and biscuit dust layer pudding. This is a Goan specialty and had very light and fluffy texture.
