Basilia is a small outlet tucked on Aundh road. It serves lip smacking pizzas and pastas. It was started by three food enthusiasts who studied together at IIHM, Goa. The inspiration came from one of the partner’s brother who works in IT and claims the difficulty to get good pizzas in Hinjewadi area. For every time they wanted to eat good pizza (thin crust and authentic taste), they had to travel to Kalyani Nagar side for the same. To answer the problem, three buddies decided to open a pizza outlet which serves delicious pizzas with thin crust, crisp base and authentic in-house prepared sauces.
Basilia serves one of the best pizza I have had in town. Now, I feel I will have to travel to Hinjewadi side from Kalyani Nagar to have best pizzas in town. The pizza here is served in three sizes, smallest being enough for two and monster size can satisfy the tummy of 4-5 people with average appetite. The Basilia, now have three outlets in that area. Aundh outlet being the pure vegetarian one. The other two outlest will also be converted to pure vegetarian outlets as well.
The ambiance is kept simple and sober with comfortable seating arrangement on 1st floor and beautifully decorated walls. The service is quick and friendly. The pizzas are served in boxes, just the way they are delivered home.
We tried following things –
Nachos & Salsa – The crisp nachos topped with tangy and delicious salsa. Garnished with mayo and onions. I loved the nachos so much that I had second serving for the same. A good option to munch on at very minimal cost.
Peri Peri Paneer Pizza – A perfect thin crust pizza, crisp from edges and soft from inside, just the way I love them. The sauce was perfect. Topped with generous amount of cheese with peri-peri flavored paneer, onions and olives. Garnished with peri-peri mayo.
Messy Riddler – Why should veggies take all the credit? This is one of their signature pizzas which is unique and interesting. The usual pizza with perfectly baked crust with pizza sauce, lots of cheese and favorite veggies like onions, capsicum and corn. The lettuce leaves and nachos covering the bed of veggies, garnished with cheese & jalapeno sauce, justifying the name. The lettuce leaves and nachos gave a nice crisp to the pizza. Loved it.
Sei Formaggio – Formaggi, an Italian word for cheeses. As the name suggests, this pizza was topped with six cheeses like smoked cheddar, parmesan, ricotta, mozzarella and two others. It tasted as amazing as it looked. This was the best cheese pizza I have ever had. Loved every bite of it.
With our tummy full we could not try pastas. But pizzas are surely delicious, scrumptious, delectable and perfectly baked. #Highly Recommended
