Kargo – Kitchen and Bar
Kargo Kitchen and Bar, Koregaon Park, Pune
I got a chance to visit this place with few bloggers as a part of tasting.
First thing that makes you feel luxurious is the Valet parking provided. It helps you to relieve yourself after driving from finding parking in busy streets of KP where parking is an issue but not here, it’s well taken care of.
Well beautified entrance gives you a warm welcome and a person greeting you with smile right at the door makes you look forward to the overall experience.
Nicely arranged tables with flowers helps you forget your stress and enjoy the moment. The ambience of this place makes it perfect for going on a date with your special someone, hang out with your buddies over pints of beer, and have a lovely time with your family. This place is for all.
It has multiple sitting sections, two on ground floor and one on upper floor. Bar section is on the upper deck. Dim lighting on the bar area adds on to the mood. One section on the ground floor is good for family/colleague get together, with hanging TV(playing sports or music) and natural lighting. The other section gives you a cozy and warmth feeling, making it the place to be with your loved one.
Coming to the main part, FOOD for which we shell out money to make our tummys satisfied and tastebuds happy. This place serves fancy yet simple food for every generation to hog on.
Service is quick, fresh and hot dishes keeps coming without any delay or wait
Being a winter morning, we started with
Cream of garlic with Mushroom Phyllo – Perfectly blended flavors of garlic and mushroom with correct consistency gave right start to our tasting. Loved it. Recommended.
Fresh Passion which was in two flavors, orange and raspberry. Perfect, natural flavor of orange and raspberry in respective drinks.
Karteen – Bubble gum syrup with a hint of mint and lime wedges. Good to go with appetizers.
Shirley Temple – Lemon, ginger ale, some syrup flavored. I liked this one the most.
Torched Rolls – Crisp baguette discs topped with torched vegetables mixed in creamy sauce flavored with Italian herbs. Blend of good Italian flavors. Loved it.
Veg Naanza – Everyone’s favorite pizza, when made on an Indian favorite bread – Naan becomes Naanza. The crust was not that crisp as expected and sauce was little too sweet for my liking. Though the toppings were fresh and in good quantity.
Peri Peri Cottage Cheese Skewers – This is a treat for all spice lovers. Nicely marinated bell peppers along with paneer in a spicy and tangy peri peri sauce is a treat for taste buds. Would have done wonders if paneer was more soft and fresh.
Pattaya Curry – Simply amazing. Thai basil with bell peppers, tofu and zucchini made in curry paste had amazing flavors to go along with nicely prepared garlic rice. Though the flat noodles served along were little sticky and the sweetness added to balance the spice level overpowered the taste.
To end on a sweet note, the desserts we had were amazing. Freshly prepared and had nice flavors.
Paan Icecream – Rich and creamy ice-cream with perfect Paan flavor topped with Gulkand was the best way to end our tasting session.
Chocolate and Oreo Cookie Cheese Mousse – what a sight to eyes, absolutely tempting and I wish I could have it all on my own but only if it was eggless.
Lovely hospitality by owner himself Mr. Darshan. Thanks for having us. Had a lovely time.
