Mahabhog Thali

Mahabhog Thali

Do you ever feel like eating everything at the same time? Do you ever crave for different flavours at one time? Do you wish to enjoy various cuisines at once? Do you desire to eat starters, mains and desserts all at once? Sounds like dream for foodies, doesn’t it??

Thali’s have garnered attention over the past decade. There are various unlimited thali outlets specializing in various cuisines like Rajasthani, Maharashtrian, Gujrati, Punjabi. To get everyone from your group to decide on a single cuisine for thali can be an arduous job.

Mahabhog Thali on JM Road has come up with the idea of different cuisines in single thali. This place serves 21 – 25 dishes from 6 different cuisines in one. Its amazing to get to taste so many dishes without making a hole in your pocket.

Gujarati, Maharashtrian, Chinese, Rajasthani, Punjabi all cuisines in one thali makes it desirable for everyone.

The ambiance is simple yet comfortable. The service is impeccable, the staff will make sure you are stuffed till throat before leaving. The way they insist on second servings even when you are so full makes you feel overwhelmed. The owner, Mr. Roopesh Jain hosted us with so much compassion and explained us the idea about the place over a short conversation. One thing which owner expressed that stuck my mind – ‘We want to feed people’s soul to be happy not just tummy’. And truly this place justified this thing by its amazing hospitality and food.

The thali consisted of –
Khandvi and Kadhi from Gujarati cuisine, Chilli Paneer and Soup from Chinese cuisine, Pithla & Bhakri from Maharashtrian cuisine, Bhindi prepared in Rajasthani style, Paneer Makhani from Punjabi cuisine, Adraki Aloo from UP, Dal Tadka, Moong Dal, Dahi Vada, Roti, Puri, Gulab Jamun, Fruit Custard, Steamed Rice, Fried Rice and Chaas.

Every single dish will take you on a tour of different regions. Few dishes truly reminded me of the places where I ate these dishes. The taste is authentic and delicious. My favorite picks would be khandvi, paneer, aloo ki sabzi, custard, fried rice, dahi vada, gulab jamun, bhindi. Omg, I just listed almost every dish. Oh, Yes! The whole thali is so good and its so reasonably priced for everybody to enjoy.
