I have been waiting and planning to visit Mineority by Saby for a long time and I am glad it finally happened.

Ambiance

Right from the entrance, this place has some story to tell. Based on the mining theme this place is inspired by the story of the Chef Saby Gorai. Each wall depicts a story. The catchy wall paintings, hanging birds, bar on the side, colorful and rustic seating arrangements makes this place different from all others. The place justifies its name ‘Mineority by Saby’ in full sense.

A perfect party place with your buddies to catch up over good food and drinks. The dark theme sets the mood right making the eve beautiful.

The menu is curated by Chef Saby hence I was looking forward to it. The place serves a mix of cuisines including regional cuisine of India, especially from North East. The dishes are impressive and have kept the authentic taste intact which is rare to find these days.

I found a lack of understanding when it comes to service, but the food took over the whole experience to a satisfactory level leaving me wishing to come again.

We started with the

mocktails

Mango BerryMango Berry

Mango Berry – A thick shake like consistency, this mocktail had a heavenly taste of mangoes with a hint of berry. Beautiful color makes it so eye pleasing and taste is at par with any of the mango based mocktails I have ever tried.

Virgin Pomegranate Mojito

Virgin Pomegranate Mojito

Virgin Pomegranate Mojito – The blend of pomegranate with mint was refreshing. Fruit mojitos can never go wrong and this one surely did the magic to my tastebuds.

Along with the drinks, we tried a few

Kalimpong Chilli Cheese Rolls

Kalimpong Chilli Cheese Rolls

Kalimpong Chilli Cheese Rolls – Crisp crust prepared with spring roll sheets filled with spicy Kalimpong gooey cheese, these rolls were bomb. Sprinkled with chilli powder to give a kick to the tastebuds, served along with the mayo-based dip. Loved it totally. Going again for this one soon.

Coal Grilled Soya Chaaps – I love chaps and whenever I spot these in the menu I have to have it. The one serves here are different than any other place. Its charcoal grilled to give that smoky flavor. This dish surely gives the feel of mining space. Nicely marinated soya chunks cooked in clay oven served along with mint chutney.

Latin Queso Fondido

Latin Queso Fondido – Who doesn’t love cheese and I am no exception to it. Molten cheese fondue served in an iron skillet along with croutons, mushrooms and homemade chips. Absolutely indulging, loved the texture and taste.

Miners Masala Papad

Miners Masala Papad

Miners Masala Papad – Miners special papad had to be something different too. It was not like any other regular papad but fried ragi papad served with salsa and jalapeno verde. Loved the twist to regular masala papad. A perfect guilt-free munching option to enjoy during your long gossip or chit chat session along with drinks.

Everybody loves jhalmoori

Everybody loves jhalmoori – When I read jhalmuri I was expecting it to be authentic taste with a kick of mustard oil, but this one was more like a bhel. A bit of disappointment but the taste was good.

litti chokha and ghuni

My litti chokha and ghuni – Another traditional very famous dish from Bihar. The authentic and rustic taste of whole wheat flour dumplings filled with sattu, cooked in coal is unbeatable. Served along with ghee, baingan ka chokha and ghuni on a clay pot with smoky charcoal to retain the smoky and rustic flavours intact. Sattu filled in dumplings was fresh, the magic happens when one breaks the dumplings with hands and top it with chokha prepared with charred baingan and ghuni prepared with black gram (chana). A heavenly combo that simply transported me to my childhood picnics which were incomplete without such earthy and rustic food.

Chanar Dalna

Chanar Dalna

Chanar Dalna – Melt in mouth paneer kofta dipped in onion tomato gravy, serves along with paratha. Liked the texture and flavours. The rice served along was a different variety from North Eastern region and well complimented the dish.

Desserts –

The best and most awaited part of the dining experience. Desserts are extremely satisfying and will leave you contented and happy.

Miners Dark Devil Cake – This was one hell of a dish. Loved the rice chocolaty flavor which made me fall in love with it. A must have on the menu. #HighlyRecommended

Tres Leches Cake – Usually milk-based desserts don’t appeal to me as much as chocolate, but to be honest I couldn’t pick my favourite between the two. Rich and milky just heavenly.
