Bhutte Ka Kees

Bhutte ka kees is famous street food from the lanes of Sarafa, Indore. It is a healthy snack recipe with sweet, savoury and tangy.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Green Chilli
  • Asafoetida
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 1/2 Cups Grated Corn
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 Tbsp Roasted Besan
  • 1/4th Cup Luke Warm Milk
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1 Tsp Lime Juice
  • 4 Tbsp Grated Coconut

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Splutter cumin seeds, add green chilli and let it cook.
  • Lower the flame and then add asafoetida and turmeric powder. Give it a mix.
  • Now add grated corn and give it a good mix.
  • Cover and cook till is half done. Keep stirring in between. Make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • Uncover, add red chilli powder, salt, sugar, roasted besan and warm milk. Mix everything well
  • Cover and cook till you get desired consistency. Keep stirring in between.
  • Finish it with lime juice, coriander leaves and grated coconut.
  • Mix well and serve hot.

Notes

1. Make sure, the oil is not too hot when you add turmeric powder, else it will burn.
2. Keep stirring in between to prevent sticking on the bottom of the pan.
3. Adjust spices as per taste.
