Cajun Spiced Potatoes
Cajun Spiced Potatoes is a barbeque nation style potato starter recipe. This is a no-fry recipe which is a healthy-ish version of Cajun Potato. Super easy to make and tastes crispy, creamy and yummy.

- 250 gms Baby Potatoes
- Water as required
- 4 Tbsp Rice Flour (Or Maida/Cornflour)
- Water as required
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- Mayonnaise (of your choice)
- Milk to adjust the consistency
- 1 Tbsp Cajun Spice
- Finely Chopped Onion (Optional)
- Coriander
Boil Potatoes –
Wash baby potatoes thoroughly.
In a pressure cooked boil the potatoes for 2 whistles (or until 80% cooked), with peels on.
Open the pressure cooker only when steam is released by itself.
Strain excess water and let them cool.
Slurry –
In a bowl, add rice flour or maida or cornflour.
Add water, salt and pepper.
Mix well to make a thick slurry.
Deep Frying or Air Frying –
When potatoes are cooled down, press them gently.
Dip them in slurry and make sure they are well coated.
Deep fry in a hot oil till golden brown.
To Air Fry – Pre heat air-fryer at 200C. Cook for about 10 mins or until golden brown.
Brush them with oil in between and turn over to cook evenly from all sides.
Assembling –
Spread potatoes in a plate.
Top it generously with the cajun spiced mayo.
Garnish with finely chopped onion and coriander (optional). But this will add nice crunch.
1. Do not overboil the potatoes.
2. The consistency of mayonnaise shouldn’t be too runny or thick. Keep it moderate.
3. Adjust the spice as per taste.
