Matar Paneer Pulao

Matar Paneer Pulao is one-pot quick weekday dinner recipe. The sweetness of peas, the crisp yet melt in mouth fried paneer cubes with spicy masala rice will make your taste buds happy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp Ghee/Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 200 gms Paneer
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Bay leaf, Cinnamon, Cardamom & Coves
  • 1/4th Cup Sliced Onions
  • 1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4th Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1/2 Cup Tomato Puree
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4th Cup Frozen or Boiled Peas
  • 200 gms Fried Paneer
  • 1 Cup Soaked Rice
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 3/4th Cup Water

Instructions
 

Soak Rice –

  • In a large bowl add rice and wash it thoroughly 4-5 times or until clear water comes out.
  • Let it soak in enough water for about 10-30 mins.

Fry Paneer –

  • Heat oil and butter in a pan.
  • Fry paneer on a high flame until golden brown.
  • Transfer paneer to a bowl, add warm water and let it aside.

Prepare Masala –

  • Heat oil is a pressure cooker. Splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add bay leaf, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon and cardamom. Give everything a good mix.
  • Next add sliced onions and cook until slightly golden brown.
  • Now add finely chopped onions and cook for 2 mins.
  • Also add ginger garlic paste and give it a nice mix.
  • Add in spices like turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, kasuri methi, garam masala powder and salt. Give everything a good mix.
  • Next add tomato puree. Mix well and cook until nicely done.
  • Add in fresh cream and stir in well.
  • Now add peas and paneer strain water from paneer).
  • Finally add soaked rice (strain water from rice) and mix gently.
  • Add water and mix in gently.
  • Pressure cook for 1 whistle on high flame and 1 whistle on low flame.
  • Open the cooker only when steam is released by itself.
  • Serve hot.
